There is news today that another national provider of cheap (i.e below cost) HIPs is on the brink of administration.
The Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors (IDEA) has separately reported that many HIP suppliers have gone into receivership since November 2009.
This is hardly surprising as the quieter winter months allied with the adverse weather conditions have resulted in low levels of new property onto the market.
What is particularly galling is the devious tactics being adopted by HIP companies in trouble. It seems that it is Domestic Energy Assessors who are bearing the brunt of the pain in not being paid, prior to the company going into receivership.
This is of course in addition to the poor unfortunate Seller who may have a partially completed HIP, who may have to pay for another HIP before they can market their property for sale.
At ActionMove we have always charged a fair fee for our HIPs.
The results are clear to see, with satisfied sellers, estate agents and not least our suppliers.
